Welcome New Members
Welcome to the Wall Lamplighters Group! We are an Alcoholics Anonymous Group. Specifically, we are a "Home Group" that hosts a weekly Open Speaker meeting and also a group which provides its own outgoing commitments to other AA groups, to help carry the AA message. If you are new to AA, or coming back, we offer you a welcome packet with pamphlet literature that answers many common questions regarding what AA and its membership is all about. A complimentary Big Book is available for new members counting days.
We hold a monthly business meeting immediately following the conclusion of our speaker meeting, on the 2nd Monday of each month. At our business meeting we recognize and welcome newly joined members to our group; review any unfinished ‘old business’; receive the group’s financial update from the Treasurer’s Report; receive vertical information regarding AA news and events occurring outside of our group, from our General Service Representative (GSR); volunteer for outgoing speaker commitments (already arranged by the group’s Booker); and hear motions for new business that any group member may wish to bring up. On a quarterly basis at our business meetings, we change our in-house group commitment responsibilities- Greeter, Set-up Crew, Coffee Maker, Leader, Clean-up Crew, Closer, etc.
